My Favorite Game

Team Fortress 2 is personally one of my favorite current games and has been for quite some time now, It is a first-person multiplayer video game which was made by Valve back in 2007. It was one of the first of many classic team-based games that revolve around having multiple character classes (9 in total) which the player could choose from. 

The game features many game modes such as King of the Hill, Capture the Flag, Payload, and many more. I've played this game for years and have grown up within the community of this amazing game, My two favorite classes are Medic & Soldier, both can be seen below.

    Sup Gavin, I've never actually ended up playing TF2 myself but it's kind of an unavoidable force if you're even remotely in the videogame community or even just in the online space in general. Although I've never played it myself I've consumed ample amounts of TF2 content over the years and it's always been something I found cool and interesting within the space. It's staying power is pretty impressive and watching it's progression, even just from the side-lines, has been super interesting.

    Hi Gavin,
    Team fortress is sick....I played it a few times and safe to say it is very competitive.
    I also love the trailers that showcase the characters of the game.
    My Favourite character is the Spy who can transform into the skins of rival players, very sneaky...
    Great blog anyway and I wish you luck for future projects to come.

What is a Game, Anyway? I've personally always wondered what actually makes the fundamentals of a game or the basic features to which something can be called "A Game", and not until I read an article called "What is a game any way?" did I truly understand. The article itself is quite interesting and while it did take me a while to finish, it did teach me quite a few things such as the fact that everyone has a different point of view on what a game really is, what classifies as a game, some people think of video games or board games first but the list is endless really.  While reading this article you can begin to understand that a lot of games have similar ideas that contrast each other or relate in either one or two ways. The most eye-opening point made in this article to myself was one made by Schreiber who talks about the relationship between "Play" and "Games" where technology is not even needed to help enjoy a game of fetch or "play

Game Idea Research

Nightmare Creature   Last weekend we were asked to begin our research on game ideas, possible games we could code within unity and showcase to our class. We were asked to come up with 4 unique ideas, here is mine: 1. Horror Puzzle Game 2. 3D Sphere Game 3. Tower Defence Game 4. FPS Shooter Game Horror Puzzle Game This week we were asked to pick one of the four ideas that we would focus on for the rest of the semester, I decided to go with my first the idea and possibly my favourite, a Horror Puzzle Game. My love for horror games is massive and I hope I can translate that love into making a good functioning horror game myself that I’m proud of, I have tones of knowledge on the subject of horror games like what mechanic and game functions should be in place, and how lighting/game design should look.
